Somehow this was set in some users profile including my own.
Goto "Your Control Panel"
Then goto "Personal Info"
Then goto "Edit your profile"
Go down to post color. If it reads "#000000", this means black. Change it to white or something. Avoid dark colors because the background is dark too.

that might be good for most, but when I discovered that a month ago, I went to do that and upon hitting confirm/submit it tells me that my yahoo account is invalid...
what do you say to that??

I would say yes.. this is from today.. the same it was when I chatted with slatts, and the same as it was when I first encountered the problem ;)
I have posted on the ikonboard forum to no avail as well, so anything that you can think of would be greatful.

in your profile, remove all entry except for the bare basics. Then save it. Is your yahoo name field empty or is there something there?
I only have my name field, bday, then post font.
