Thanks to a tip from a friend, I've been able to step up my game as is evident here http://sinfulrum.sinnerz.org/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=12;t=161
and boy did I pay for it, I needed to take a hand break after that bout cause my hand hurt a lot, but it helped.
I was constantly moving by the way of the double tap movement. that is tap twice in rapid succession to go right, left, forward, and backwards, while still moving and firing. this caused me to hit more??? don't know how, don't want to ask, lol. but I was hit less as a result as well, I still teleported around like I do, but useing this other method in conjunction with my other skills it worked to a wonderful finish.
I also did not jump around by using the jump button, as that slows your movement down while in the air.
So learn the double tap, use it often. I'm confident that your game will improve ten fold
I've never noticed! I've thought you've always double-tapped... or "flipped" or dodge as they call it.
You need to enable "dodging" otherwise it wont work. Once i remember (after re-install UT), i wasnt dodging when i doubletap... well i didnt even notice it much... but then i did... i was like wtf... no wonder i'm getting hit all the time! I figured i was sucking or everyone aim improved or soemthign..
Then i turn it back on and what a difference again. I was doding again.
Dont use it too much, just use it all the time now to practice and make it 2nd nature... but when you got it down, dont abuse it. dodging (u'll notice veterans do it often) should be used not not 100% of the time.
You gotta enfornce normal jump when you have to. Add that to your arsenal... and make it 2nd nature. So doring a dual, you'll be able whenever necessary dodge.
I apparently when I'm facing a dual and i'm really into it (not sleepy or bored at the game) I dodge and teleport together... you'll see me dodge and shoot my teleporter and teleport at the same time. And I will jump if neccessary, and if in jam in mid air, I teleport down. Gotta be second nature so you can do all that fluidly without thinking, gee i am in mid air... kinda slow... maybe i should teleport down to make me a harder target. just gotta jump... shoot shoot, and teleprot down to save your ass all in an instant... without even thinking of it.
sometims controlling your movements and mastering it is as important as a good aim.
loong looong time ago... whenever i was ever considered a "good" player... it wasnt cus of my aiming skills. its cus of my maneuvering. I teleport, dodge, flip, with a mediocre aim. I like to manevuer mysing into someone;s blind spot and shoot him while he;s lost and looking for me.
sometimes you have 1 second open window where he's open for you to frag... and if you're quick enough it;s a free frag. not much aiming... but lotta work to get to that angle and without losing your own orientation.
I didn't double tap dodge as much, I'd teleport around instead. I'd dodge one way, but not immediately back like the pros. I do agree with you, just wasnt' sure how to word it the best. I understand what your saying and it DOES have to be a 2nd nature thing.
You have to use your whole arsenal of skills in order to be on top and have a good high fragging game.

double taps my game:) as for the tele thing i dodge left shoot a trans straight up while heading left then dodge right and teleport to my trans im right over them for an easy shot, yase taught me that one, i also like to see how other people who play certain styles manage their game so i can kinda copy their style, i did this when i first joined up here when i couldnt dodge at all started trying to mirror bytes movements and it taught me a lot i noticed some people who do the certain styles really well and studied there game, Nuts has a good jump pattern as does KTB bonehead so i picked that up from them, then i watched byte thunder scratch and roxx to pick up the double tap game, but i think what helped me learn to dodge the most was watching damien do his i can beat you without leaving the ground style game cuz trying to do that helped my aim because i sucked at it and had to rely on nothing but aim to get the job done

lol
"watching damien do his i can beat you without leaving the ground style game"
He tried that with me... and got whooped. Not to say i'm better than him... cus he can kick my arse if he takes me seriously. It's when he doesnt use his teleporting and other shit that will get him schooled by me.
as for yase... #### he gotten a lot better. The gap between us is getting wider and wider. I mean we got similar styles, but he got one heck of a better aim. Or maybe I shouldnt be playing on my p3-933.
I dont remember him ever schooling me so bad when i was on a athlon xp 2000 system. We'll c. I getting my tax refund, and thinking about either putting into savings or get a nice puter with it. lol.... #### i hate making hard decisions.

"guest" used to be a username... but we cleaned out the forum members... and deleted users... so the deleted users who posted defaults to "guest".
remember when I ask ~Sin~twistytank and ~Sin~guns to use twistytank and guns instead? I deleted the accounts with ~SiN~ once they moved over to being tagless.
